Hi there! My name is James, I am a drum teacher based in Liverpool, and welcome to my site! I think I should tell you a little bit about myself to help you decide in your search for your next drum teacher. I am a highly accomplished drummer with a dynamic and versatile playing style and a passion for rhythm. Honing my craft at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, I graduated with flying colours, earning a prestigious 1st class honours degree. After graduating, I performed at iconic venues such as The Roundhouse in London to the O2 City Hall in Newcastle.

Notably, I have performed with Warner Music artists Stooshe and embarked on captivating journeys aboard Royal Caribbean, Fred Olsen, DFDS, P&O, and Celebrity Cruises. I have spent the last 10 years performing at festivals, theatres, and concert halls in UK, USA, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Mexico, the Caribbean, Germany, Russia and many more! My career so far a testament to the happiness and experiences taking lessons on the instrument can bring you, and I hope to help bring you the same joy via my lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there trial lessons for new students?
Unfortunately I do not provide trial lessons at the moment. I do have special offers for new students however listed in the pricing section of this website.

What is my availability?
As a working musician I have a varied availability. I do offer flexible scheduling, and can offer exact details when contacted.

What does a student need for drum lessons?
Students do not need anything at the beginning. At the beginning I can provide drumsticks and all other equipment to get the ball rolling. I can then advise students for anything they will need in the future.

Do you offer online lessons?
I do not offer online lessons at the current time. All lessons will be held at my drum studio in Vauxhall road, Liverpool.

What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours notice prior to commencement of the agreed time of the lessons. If you cancel within 24 hours of the agreed time, the lesson will be charged in full. I do not enjoy enforcing this, but it is to protect my income, and short notice cancellation does not give me enough time to take on other work.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy is to make the instrument as fun as possible! I want to spread the joy this instrument brings me. Regardless of experience I will have you playing along to your favourite songs from the first lesson.
